• Use pressure-mounted gates on top of the stairs. This is seriously emphasized not to use pressure-mounted gates at all on the top of the stairs. It is because a push can easily displace these types of gates, and your baby might end up falling off the stairs, which you don’t want to happen. 
• Prevent creating your “DIY Baby Gate”. Most baby gates are built in a while, keeping a lot of professional tactics in mind. The one you might try to make yourself might not be strong enough and can cause various blunders. It’s better to spend some amount on safety rather than on medicines and hospital fee. 
• If you have any pet and think you leave space at the bottom for them, then it’s a big NO. If you have a cat, then they can quickly jump off the baby gate. Baby gates are specifically for babies. Leaving space underneath will cause them to go underneath and might cause serious injuries. 
• Don’t try to jump off the entrance yourself. If you have older kids, then teach them how to open and close the gate rather than trying to step off it as it can be a bad example for the babies, and they might try to climb. 
• Stop using baby gates after a certain age because they can cause a lot of other level injuries. For example, your kid might try to climb off the baby gate and then fall off it and hurt themselves.
